Theodor Weimer

A native of Bonn, tenor Theodor Weimer had already studied musicology for two semesters at the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität in Bonn and completed his training as a church musician in Aachen before beginning his vocal studies at the Musikhochschule in Cologne.

Besides his primary activity as organist and choral director at the Church of St. Peter and Paul in the Upper Bavarian town of Engelskirchen (1984-1992), he was also a member of the Kölner Rundfunkchor. He attended master classes with Paul Späni (Zurich) and Kurt Widmer (Basel) and also took further voice lessons from Monika Lenz at the Salzburg Mozarteum. As a soloist he has largely concentrated his activities on the concert and oratorio fields.

Theodor Weimer has been a member of the Bavarian Radio Chorus since 1992.
