Mezzo-soprano Ruth Volpert, a native of Constance, studied solo voice and vocal education with Uta Spreckelsen at Münster University of Music and concert singing with Klesie Kelly-Moog at Cologne University of Music and Dance. She was a prizewinner of the Euregio Vocalisten Concours, a finalist at the International Brahms Competition in Pörtschach (2012), and a scholarship holder of the Walter Kaminsky Foundation. She also attended master-classes with Ingeborg Danz, Dalia Schächter, Claudia Eder, and Andreas Scholl.
Her broad concert repertoire extends from Bach’s Passions and cantatas to Mozart’s Masses, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle. While still a student she took a keen interest in the lied, so that her repertoire now includes works by Brahms, Mahler, Strauss, and Schumann as well as Schoenberg’s Buch der hängenden Gärten.
Ruth Volpert has made guest appearances in various roles at the city theaters in Münster, Bielefeld, and Aachen, the Opernwerkstatt am Rhein, and the Cologne Opera. She has been a member of the Bavarian Radio Chorus since 2018.
