Voice group: Soprano
Priska Eser was born in Augsburg and studied with Nikolaus Hillebrand in Munich prior to being engaged as a regular member of the Bavarian Radio Chorus. Parallel to this, she developed an active solo career as documented in a large number of CD productions and radio and television broadcast recordings. In the field of Early Music she has performed on recordings with Thomas Hengelbrock and Andrew Parrott, among others, and she can also be heard on a number of concert recordings. Her wide-ranging repertoire, however, also includes oratorios, masses and cantatas by Bach, Händel and Haydn, as well as a number of composers from the romantic era in addition to virtually all of Mozart’s sacred works. Beyond numerous engagements in Germany (inter alia with the Münchner Philharmoniker and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks) her busy concert activity has also taken her to neighboring European countries. Besides this, Priska Eser has many years of experience in the interpretation of New Music including participation in a number of world premières.
In 2009 she joined forces with tenor Andreas Hirtreiter to found the Ensemble Pathos, which presents programs that run the gamut through every genre of music history. This group has regularly engendered the creation of quite a few transcriptions and arrangements for various vocal and instrumental ensembles. In her recital performances the soprano gives preferential treatment to works by Mozart, Schubert, Schumann and Strauss.
