Monika Stockmeier

Voice group: Soprano

Monika Stockmeier studied piano, music education and solo singing with Elisabeth Schärtel at the Meistersinger-Konservatorium in her native city of Nuremberg. Ongoing studies brought her Edith Urbanczyk, Brigitte Fassbaender and Hans Hotter. Beyond this, she was a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper München and made guest appearances for seven years at the Bayreuther Festspiele.

As Erste Soloblume in Wagner’s “Parsifal”, as Marianna in Wagner’s “Liebesverbot” and as Marie in Lortzing’s “Waffenschmied” (also filmed for the ZDF) she was able to perform on stage beside such singers as Peter Hofmann, Hermann Prey and Kurt Moll. Besides that she can also be heard on radio, CD and television recordings and gives concerts at home and abroad.

Monika Stockmeier has been a member of the Bavarian Radio Chorus since 1986.
