Manuel Adt initially began his musical training on the cello and later took voice lessons from Hartmut Elbert as a member of the Bavarian Singakademie. Since 2012 he has studied voice with Andreas Schmidt at Munich University of Music and Theatre, where he is now enrolled in the master’s programmes in concert and lied singing.
Among his various awards is a special prize in lied singing from the German Music Competition (2018) together with his accompanist Kathrin Isabelle Klein, with whom he frequently gives recitals.
He appears regularly as a solo vocalist throughout southern Germany with a repertoire including the major oratorios and Requiems of Schütz, Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Brahms.
He has also taken various roles on the opera stage for his voice type, singing in Munich University productions as Count Almaviva (“The Marriage of Figaro”), Ford (“The Merry Wives of Windsor”), Junius (“The Rape of Lucretia”) and Falke (“Die Fledermaus”) and making guest appearances at the Munich Biennale, the Nuremberg State Theatre and the Munich Opera.
Manuel Adt has been a member of the Bavarian Radio Choir since 1 December 2018.
