Barbara Fleckenstein began her musical career at the age of eight in the Limburger Domchor. After graduating from secondary school, she completed her vocal studies with Elsa Cavelti at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt/Main, where she attended recital and oratorio classes (with Hartmuth Höll and Charles Spencer), as well as participating in the opera school.
